Way finding

The purpose of the way finding is obviously to create clarity of direction(pretentious much) however it is important to stay true the identity of the museum.. i will develop the way finding.... using the grid system used through out the identity as i believe it will crete an interesting visual identity for something that is normally quite mundane. i will try and make the way finding as 3d as possible to create a certain degree of reality..

side wall way finding.

This would be seen on the side mounted to a wall in the museum . obviously highlighting the use of no food. You can see how the grid system used by the identity is portrayed here.. with inconstancy in length of arms etc demonstrating the deconstructive nature of the grid.. the way finding designed like this has the ability to be progressed on.... for example more squares can be added easily.. to create different shapes.. i think i have successfully used gradients.. to create a 3 dimensional effect. 

These two also follow the same format as the above, the fact that there is not a set shape to the way finding also pushes forward the idea of deconstructionism.

Wall hanging. 

These pieces would hang from the ceiling.. and direct people from a greater eight.. again you can see the  how the identity is effecting the shape of way finding . while not detracting from the legibility of design . the icons in black add to the this legibility.. much more than if they were more than one colour. 

Outside

This piece would be the tallest of the exteria way finding . and would be able to inform over the greatest distance.. the branding is now prevalent on the main body of it.. this is due to it being seen outside.. therefore potentially people that may of not been to the type factory may have an intrest. .

The arrow is the addition on to this piece and perhaps is the least effective of the design.. as the arrow is around head heigh.. again the branding is present.. 

Perhaps my favourite of the exteria way finidng.. but its is also perhaps the mos standard in shape, a shape which is never constant however... 

Again without the arrow like the one above.. this would be used to highlight a current location.. rather than direct. 

Wall hanging with more squares would add to easily ajustable way finding that touches on another ethos behind the type factory.. that of creation.. this edit-ability of the design.. is not only piratical but en keeping with the identity itself. 

this shows the the way finding to scale.. and gives you the idea of how and what levels it will be seen at. 

Alternative idea for wall way finding.. stays true to the identity however is not really aplicable through out the museum. The identity image as an individually strong.
