Project 100-Questionnaire development

I am now going to look at the perception of 10 different chocolates that have large diversity, in the consumer image they are trying to portray. These chocolates were:

  • Ferrero Roche
  • Toblerone
  • Green and Blacks
  • Kit Kat
  • Ritter Sport
  • Tescos own
  • Mars
  • Galaxy
  • Cadburys
  • Lindt

I need to sub categorise 4 different ways that would give a strong image of how  the particular chocolate is perceived in the market, as a result i chose to categorise in these four ways:

  • Ageability(how old you are when you first try it)
  • Convince(How easily accessible it is)
  • giftability
  • Indulgence
There would also be two consistent factors analysed weather people considered the chocolate to be high end or budget.

To obtain the result i would use, i got ten different people to mark where they thought the specific chocolate would go on the diagram, and then would take a central mark out of then different points and use that as to where i would show it on my final pieces.

the process looked like this.

unsurprisingly, there was not a great deal of variation in people results. Perhaps i should of done it so everyone else could not see others placement.  i did this process for the four subcategories.  the initial final outcome turned out like this.

After a process crit, it was bought up that i should make more of the chocolate colours, as a result i decided to reduce opacity of the black lines, to draw your eye from them, and show the graphics on,like the previous pieces off white, to bring out some of the colours.

Reducing the size off the axis helped to put more focus on the colour also. i also kept the type face consistent through out all the info graphics done, this will enable me to use them as a set at the end.

The icons used to represent where the chocolates were put on the graph, are simple and represent again the colour of the packaging.
